SUMMER PRO-AM 2022
It took them 4 years, but no one's complaining now! Elite finally earns that illustrious title at the Hoopsville Summer Pro-Am. The squad knocked that monkey off their back and defeated Let's Get It 127-116. It was great to see the team come together when it mattered, put their egos to the side, and play basketball the right way. Congratulations on a great season and a monster win!!!
When a stacked team buys in to the one goal, it can be magical. Elite is a prime example of a team that had a ton of talent and bought in. Elite convincingly took down the #1 Raw Bunch squad and advance to the Championship by the score of 133-96. QJ Peterson finished with 36 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists and 2 steals. Elite returns to the Finals in their 4th consecutive season. Is it their time?
Despite all their success this regular season, it's as if the Let's Get It team is flying under the radar. Losing Isaiah Briscoe at championship weekend was tough, but it was next man up mentality for the gang in green. LGI edged out R2K-OOH-WAY in the Final 4 110-109 (overtime). It's all about "Survive & Advance"!!! Let's Get It will face Elite in the Summer Pro-Am Championship tomorrow night.
Down by 20+ points in the 1st half to the defending champs, Elite put together a solid 24 minutes and avenged last summer's championship blowout loss to the Sean Bell All-Stars. Final score 97-96. AJ English led all scorers with 28 points and more importantly a spot in the Final 4 vs Raw Bunch this Saturday. (8.8.22)
Just like all the other teams in the summer league, R2K-OOH-WAY deals with the same player personnel issues. R2K has not had a complete team all summer but have found ways to win. Teammates Jordan Washington and Fausto Pichardo are two solid pieces to the puzzle. And they're officially in the Final 4 this Saturday and will face a very tough Let's Get It squad. Will the R2K bigs be the difference? Who y'all got??? (8.8.22)
And just like that, it's playoff time! Two teams that many wrote off before and during the season are ADC and Hidden Talent. If both these squads get wins in the 1st round of the post season, it shouldn't be a surprise. Both teams have solid talent and play with a chip on their shoulders. One can make an argument for any team to win it all this summer...ADC and Hidden Talent are no exception! (8.6.22)
Our Sunday Special event was a massive hit this weekend. With so many scheduling conflicts and playoff implications, we were able to put together an exhibition game between Let's Get It and the Raw Bunch. The game lived up to all the hype and didn't disappoint. Let's Get It's Isaiah Briscoe led the team to victory 138-109. Briscoe finished with a game-high 37 points. Let's Get It will face More Than A Run in the 1st round of the playoffs. (8.1.22)
The Los Angeles Lakers' Lonnie Walker IV made his way over to the league via Team Raw Bunch. The Bunch was already headed to the #1 seed in their division but have just taken things to the next level with the acquisition of Walker. In his debut, Walker finished with a solid 36 points, 8 rebounds, 5 assists and 3 steals. Have the Bunch just guaranteed a Chip this summer? (7/25/22)
In their rookie season at Hoopsville, it took a couple of games for A Different Cloth aka ADC to get comfortable in the league. We all know of their hard work mentality, 94-feet of defensive tenacity and a relentless desire to grind out wins. The squad has earned a playoff spot this summer and the best is yet to come. We see you and welcome again to Hoopsville! (7/25/22)
